J.A.W.S. is dedicated to graphics, ActiveX, JavaScript, some very useful links and lots of slang lists :) One of the main attractions here (I hope) is my ActiveX powered interactive display of free graphics background/textures that I have made and offer to non-commercial web site creators for free (commercial users must contact me for permission). For those of you using Microsoft's Internet Explorer (3.0) and Netscape's latest (with ActiveX plug-in) you should be set. If you don't have ActiveX capability, I suggest that it's time you did. Since J.A.W.S. is dedicated to graphics as well, it is my pleasure to announce a great graphics software package that is now back on the market. The package was originally called Altamira Composer, but Microsoft bought out the company and hired the original author as well a few years back. Since then, I was happy to continue using my old favorite Altamira. Finally, Microsoft has released Altamira once again with a new front end and a new name - Microsoft Image Composer. All the original functionality is there but the interface is totally different. This program works like no other I have ever seen or used. It can do things in a few short steps that takes many in other high-end packages available today. It's hard to get used to but once you get a feel for it, it's amazing in it's simplicity. Couple all this with the fact that it also includes all three sets of Gallery Effects plug-ins (I bought them awhile back at $99 per set) and the original Altamira costed hundreds of dollars, it is a fantastic deal, in my opinion, of course. Composer, when first released by Microsoft again, was a free download, but I am sorry to have to announce that it is no longer free. But if you purchase the Plus Package for Win95, you will have a copy of your very own, not to mention all the useful things that Plus provides. If you already have a recent copy of Plus, why not check and see if you already have Image Composer and give it a try? |
